Print Workshop Guidelines :

1: Health and Safety in the Scout Hall Workshop :

  • Are you fit to attend? if you are experiencing cold or flu like symptoms, or those associated with Covid-19 (high temperature, persistent cough, loss of taste or smell), please do not enter the workshop. Seek medical advice. It is expected that participants will have had a covid vaccination. We hope that participants will also take their own lateral flow tests if they have cause to.

  • We have relaxed the wearing of face coverings in the workshop and moving through the hall. However, we ask that you respect other participants personal space and wear a covering if up close. Please do wear a face covering if you believe you may have a cold.

  • Please observe 2 metre social distancing measures; The layout of the workshop has been designed to allow for movement and space.

  • Our current capacity is one table per person with a limit of approx 10 participants. The exception is whereby 2 people from the same household, or friends, wish to sit together at the same table.

  • Please use hand sanitiser provided as soon as you enter the workshop. Please remember to wash your hands regularly and efficiently as needed. Paper towels are now supplied as an alternative to shared cotton towels in the kitchen and bathrooms.

  • Please use antibacterial handspray and kitchen towel to wipe tools and equipment that you use during the workshop.

2: Booking Your Place :

  • To allow for social distancing, places at the workshop are now limited (approx 10 participants). It is therefore essential that we move from the drop-in format to a pre-booked / pre-paid system.

  • Places must be booked in advance, please do not arrive unannounced.

  • Workshops need to be paid for in advance. Once a workshop date has been booked, I ask participants to honour the commitment they have made to attend, with the exception of illness.

    Booked places are non refundable if you choose to cancel. However, if you cancel no less than 7 days before the workshop date, your booking can be transferred to a new advertised date.

  • The workshop is now £18 per 3 hour session, preferred method of payment is by bank transfer.

  • Your first session is £25, which includes an introductory lesson and a free piece of wood or lino to get started.

  • The Loyalty Card is the best value way of paying, as you receive a free session after attending nine workshops; You can conveniently pay for three sessions at a time, and book workshop dates as and when it suits you. 

3: Refreshments :

  • Please bring your own cup or flask to the workshop. Only make drinks for yourself, please do not offer to make drinks for other participants.

  • Pre-wrapped teabags and biscuits will be available to buy. We also have a new Nespresso coffee machine kindly donated to the workshop; coffee pods can be purchased or you can bring your own.

  • Please use hand sanitiser before using shared items eg. milk, coffee machine, sink taps etc.

4: Access to Scout Hall Workshop :

  • The Scout Hall Workshop is located on the Chichester High School campus.

  • Access on weekdays during term-time is via Kingsham Road PO19 8EB. Use visitor car park, and on foot follow Exit signs (look for Sports Hall and yellow barrier) leading past motorcycle testing courts. Scout Hall is pale blue wooden building on the left through green metal gates.

  • Access at weekends and during half-term holidays is via Canal Basin Road PO19 8PX, opposite the Royal Mail Delivery Office; Arrival on foot or bicycle is preferred. However, it is possible to drive in via the campus Exit, as long as you use great care and observation. Park on hard surfaces directly outside the Scout Hall and on the drive leading to it. on your right through the green metal gates. 

  • Alternative parking can be found at Chichester Gate (Cineworld), where you can currently park for up to 4 hours free (being careful to move your car within this time to avoid charge).
